Rate limited (429)

Why Hyperliquid throttles requests, and what happens on this site when it does.

Updated View as Markdown

Hyperliquid limits how much a connection can ask for, both per network address and per trading account. A brand-new, low-volume account has a smaller budget than one with trading history behind it.

Background refreshes (price feeds, periodic resyncs) back off automatically when the limit is hit and retry shortly after, you may see a chart or feed pause for a few seconds rather than update live. That’s expected and resolves on its own.

Actions you take yourself, placing an order, cancelling, editing, are never delayed or queued behind this. If one of those is rejected for a rate limit, wait a few seconds and try again.
